Victoria Theatre Association’s yearlong education project, Through the Eyes of a Child: Children and the Holocaust, concludes today and tomorrow with My Heart in a Suitcase. There will be four daytime performances, as part of the Physicians for Kids Discovery Series, as well as a public performance on Wedney, April 9 at the Victoria Theatre.
This powerful and moving production tells the story of the Kindertransport, a program just prior to World War II that permitted Jewish children to leave Nazi-occupied countries and resettle in Great Britain. It is based on the memoirs of Anne L. Fox, who escaped from Nazi Germany via the Kindertransport. Fox will be in Dayton for the production, and will speak to audiences at each performance.
The show’s producer, ArtsPower, has put together a brief behind-the-scenes documentary about My Heart in a Suitcase:

This is an important story for everyone to hear and see; tickets for the public performance on April 9 are priced at just $12 for adults and $6 for children.
