CHOLARSHIPS
Victoria Theatre Association understands that difficult economic times affect everyone–but especially our schools. For this reason, we are pleased to once again offer scholarships to help you and your students make it to the theatre, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and donors. Whether you’re a group of 5 or 105, there are options for you. Be sure to note the “scholarship” area of The Frank M. Tait Foundation Discovery Series application to be considered.
VTA & RTA: COLLABORATING TO GET YOUR STUDENTS TO THE THEATRE
Victoria Theatre Association’s The Frank M. Tait Foundation Discovery Series brings more than 30,000 children to the theatre every year for outstanding productions that enhance the students’ classroom experiences.
At least 60 percent of the students attending The Frank M. Tait Foundation Discovery Series do so on scholarship. That’s more than 18,000 students during the previous school year alone. We realize other students are still unable to attend due to the high cost or lack of transportation. The average cost per bus for a school field trip is $150.
Teachers spoke, and we listened! Thanks to the generous support of Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority and The Convenience Stores of Speedway, Victoria Theatre Association is proud to offer Fueling Education to help get you to the theatre for our wonderful programs.
Here’s How It Works:
- FOR SCHOOLS LOCATED ON OR WITHIN A QUARTER MILE OF AN RTA ROUTE, PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION. RTA will notify you if they are available to pick up your students, bring them to the Victoria Theatre and return them to school following the performance FREE OF CHARGE. This service is offered on a limited basis, which is dependent upon the daily availability of buses and operators. All requests require RTA approval. PLAN EARLY!

- Email the completed application to hbard@greaterdaytonrta.org and mindy.wallace@victoriatheatre.com. After application is submitted, RTA will notify applicant of trip availabilities prior to the requested date.
- For schools outside the RTA route, limited scholarships are available to help pay for your transportation as well. Please contact mindy.wallace@victoriatheatre.com.
