About the Mid-Day Arts Café:
The next Mid-Day Arts Café features dancers from Dayton Ballet who will demonstrate the elegance and romance of the pas de deux on November 19. Karen Russo Burke, artistic director of Dayton Ballet, will discuss the symbolism of the dance in her presentation “The Art of the Pas de Deux.”
This hour-long program includes a boxed lunch provided by Citilites at the Schuster Center and a sneak peek at what Dayton Ballet has in store this season. In addition to a demonstration of a pas de deux by Dayton Ballet dancers choreographed especially for the Mid-Day Arts Café, Burke will share the meaning of pas de deux and its cultural, historical, and technical significance in the world of ballet.
Now in its fourth year, the Mid-Day Arts Café series continues to highlight the professional arts organizations in the Dayton area. One Tuesday a month, a participating arts organization presents an hour-long session in the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center’s Mathile Theatre, providing a little insight into its mission, its productions and events, and maybe even a preview performance. Come prepared with those questions you’ve been wanting to ask! Each Mid-Day Arts Café begins with a box lunch provided by Citilites Restaurant & Bar at 11:30 a.m., and the presentation starts promptly at noon.
Ticket Center Stage is the only outlet authorized to sell tickets for events at the Schuster Center and Victoria Theatre.
